Originally formed in New York at the Manhattan School of Music, the Paris-based Zodiac Trio is quickly becoming an international sensation, offering performances with effervescent style and enthusiasm, bringing the clarinet-violin-piano instrumentation to the foreground of chamber music.

Sierra Stages presents “Stone Soup” ~ Wednesday, April 24 • 7:30pm

While a student at Cal State Northridge, InConcert Sierra Artistic Director Ken Hardin wrote the musical score for a children’s play version of “Stone Soup,” an old folk story in which hungry strangers persuade local people of a town to give them food. Sierra Stages will be presenting a staged reading (with music) of Stone Soup at the Miners Foundry on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:30 PM. Sierra Stages readings are FREE, with a suggested donation of $10.00 (but no one will be turned away.)

Foothill Chamber Winds “Rambunctious Rhythms!” ~ Sunday, April 28 • 2pm
Ostrom home – 21293 Scotts Flat Road, Nevada City ~ $20 at the door

Keeping you on your toes and keeping your toes tapping! Kirsti Powell, flute, Murray Campbell, oboe, Henry Hansen, clarinet, Cameron Kopf, horn, Cathy Collings, bassoon present an afternoon of quintet music featuring complex and captivating rhythms from ragtime, folk songs, Latin jazz and more.  Works by Gaddini, Sowash, Troupin, Damase and D’Rivera.
