Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator

28-40 hours per week (weekends and weeknights availability required)

$15-16 hr. – commensurate with experience (benefits not included)

About the organization:

InConcert Sierra is a non-profit classical and choral music presenting organization in Nevada County.  Our mission: InConcert Sierra presents exceptional classical and choral performances that inspire and enhance our cultural life. We offer a warm, inclusive community for enjoying music and we provide educational opportunities for youth and adults.

ICS presents annually: six chamber concerts​ featuring emerging young artists to internationally renowned performers​, one ICS Orchestra concert, four Sierra Master Chorale and Orchestra performances, two fundraising events, two educational concerts for kids, and a host of other activities such as house concerts, outreach to youth and seniors, and donor parties.

Qualified candidate responsible for:

  • Office management – answering phones, record keeping, purchasing supplies, scheduling, etc…
  • Box office – managing ticketing systems and handling ticket orders
  • Volunteer coordination – recruiting, scheduling, training, and retaining volunteers
  • Assisting with concert and event production
  • Assisting Executive Director and Artistic Director with clerical administration and artist relations
  • Other duties as assigned

The position requires:

  • Excellent and effective computer skills
  • Creativity, with ability to think “outside the box”
  • Self-motivation and solution-oriented thinking
  • Weekends and weeknight availability for concerts and events
  • Customer Service! Working effectively and courteously in stressful environments
  • An energetic and outgoing personality
  • A passion for music
  • A good sense of humor
  • Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds and carry items appropriate to the job; stand, walk and sit frequently for periods of time; climb stairs.

  • College education preferred (AA/BA or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of customer service or project management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills

Hours required:

  • Tuesday – Friday: office hours 10-5
  • Mondays following concerts or events
  • Sunday concerts (once monthly, September through May)
  • Other events as scheduled
  • require weekends and weeknights availability
