MARCH 15 CONCERT POSTPONED

To all of our March 15 concert ticket holders and our community,

On behalf of the InConcert Sierra Board of Directors and Staff, we regret to have to postpone the upcoming March 15, 2020 concert. This was a difficult decision made in consultation with the artists and artist representative who agreed that postponing the performance to a later date makes the most sense given the current situation.

As a huge fan of Wu Han and David Finckel’s remarkable artistry and their impressive work with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and Music@Menlo, I have been looking forward to this concert since the day our Artistic Director Ken Hardin announced it! And then came COVID-19.  Like many of you, I am disappointed. However, as the board of directors has agreed, we do not want the responsibility of moving forth with a concert that may place attendees at increased risk of serious medical consequences, or contribute to the spread of infection with its predictable consequences.

These are unprecedented times and, as much as we might want everyday life to continue as it has been, the probability is that we will need to change our current lifestyles, at least for a time.  This will include concert attendance for the near future. The eternal optimist in me says we will persevere and move forth with our upcoming concerts. However, it is probable that we will have to postpone our MusicaliTea fundraiser scheduled for April 5, and perhaps cancel next month’s Third Sunday concert, currently scheduled for April 19 and featuring the outstanding male vocal ensemble, Cantus. To save my own sanity, I won’t now look further out than one month.

If you have purchased tickets to the March 15 performance, you may:

•  Exchange your ticket/s for a future performance, whether it is this concert’s rescheduled date, or a concert on either this season, or our upcoming 2020-21 season to be announced shortly.
•  Exchange your ticket/s for a gift certificate, which can be used at any time.
•  Donate your ticket/s, and receive a tax deduction for the total ticket value.
•  Receive a refund for the value of the ticket/s.

Because organizations such as InConcert Sierra are not-for-profit and exist for the public’s benefit, we hope you will consider one of the first three exchange or donation options.  Even if we must now cancel events, we promise to once again bring you the best in classical and choral music that you have become accustomed to, as soon as the threat of COVID-19 is diminished.
