Greg Ouligian, board member
His prescription is music!
As a native of The Bronx, Greg Ouligian grew up with his two brothers in an apartment where music was important. He has fond memories of hearing his mother singing and playing show tunes on the piano and listening to his father’s baritone singing voice. His last public piano performance was in junior high when he accompanied his brother, who played the second movement of Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto.” Greg’s love of classical music flourished while collecting LPs in college and, of course, playing them loudly in his International House dorm room at UC Berkeley. Later, he was a member of the UCLA Campus Choir and enjoyed singing “Messiah” and Mozart’s “Requiem.”
Greg has been a practicing Emergency Physician for 35 years and currently practices in Roseville. He and his wife Tory raised 3 children in Southern California. Next to helping his kids with their math homework, his favorite activity was accompanying them while they practiced their piano duets. He and Tory sang on their church’s worship team for many years.
Tory and Greg moved to Grass Valley in 2010 and were amazed at the richness of the local cultural scene. They fell in love with InConcert Sierra’s Third Sunday concerts, and both immediately became very involved with the organization. Greg is pleased to be a new member of the board and hopes to parlay his clinical skills and love of music into serving the InConcert Sierra community.
