Monroe Lovelady, board president
A discerning music and food lover
Monroe Lovelady joined the board in November of 2009, has served in many capacities and was elected president in mid-2016. He has lived in Nevada County for more than 20 years and is an avid supporter of the musical and theatrical arts in Nevada County. In addition to InConcert Sierra, he is actively involved with the Sierra Stages theater production group.
Monroe is an electrical engineer by training and recently retired from the banking industry. He is an aspiring pianist and enjoys most music genres, especially classical and jazz. He takes piano lessons with both Aileen James and Ken Hardin and loves every minute of it!
In addition to a love for great music, Monroe is a foodie. He has created the “Taste of Classics” programs for InConcert Sierra, which pairs the gourmet menus of renowned chefs, such as Alan Tangren (formerly of Chez Panisse), with equally superb music. He is also one of the masterminds behind any food served at an InConcert Sierra event.
