Steve Mendoza, board member

Steve is a second generation California native, born and raised in San Jose California. He relocated to Grass Valley in 1981 to accept a design position at the Grass Valley Group (as it was known then). His professional career has included various positions in Design, Engineering Project Management and Business & Sales Operations. During this time, Steve has raised a family, built lifelong friendships and enjoyed the cultural advantages that Nevada County has to offer.

When not toiling away at work, Steve enjoys celebrating life with his partner Claudia, visiting with kids and grandkids, socializing with friends, outdoor activities, cooking, music (both listening and performing), reading and traveling when they can get away.

In addition to being the lead singer and harp player for the local rock/blues band Sons of Boogie, Steve has sung tenor with the Sierra Master Chorale for three years, an experience he describes this way: “Joining SMC was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only have I learned and progressed musically, but I have met and been accepted by a group of motivated and inspiring people that take extreme pride in what they do. It’s been a privilege to be a part of this group and the In Concert Sierra organization”.
