Brett Bentley – associate director
Brett spent her childhood moving around the midwest and the San Francisco Bay Area. Amid the change of houses and states, music and sports were always a constant in their family. Every move brought new opportunity to experience orchestra halls in Chicago, Minnesota, Kansas City and San Francisco.
After graduating from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in journalism, Brett moved to Grass Valley to take a position as reporter for The Union. It didn’t take long to fall in love with a community dedicated to arts and outdoor adventures. Within two years, Brett accepted a position in public relations/marketing at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and spent the next 10 years in health care communications. After the birth of her second child, Brett spent the next few years freelance writing and raising her children before returning to the newspaper as features editor.
Brett and her husband Greg couldn’t imagine a better place to raise their two daughters than Nevada County. Most of her spare time is spent enjoying all that our community has to offer with her family, including camping, biking, hiking and attending events around town. Brett has been on the Barbara Schmidt Millar Celebration of Life Triathlon committee for the past five years, serves on the Union Hill School Site Council and is a self-admitted soccer mom. In her “spare” time, she gets out to run the miles and miles of beautiful trails we have around between Auburn and Tahoe.
