InConcert Sierra’s piano technician Peter Sumner has put together an informative “house concert” of sorts where he will discuss the art and science of tuning a concert grand piano, how a piano mechanism works, well-tempered and stretch tuning and preparing, why different brands of pianos have a distinctive sound, and much more. The program will feature clips from two wonderful documentary films about the making of pianos…followed by a question and answer period.
Note: Wine and noshes will be served.
