“Poetry in Song” features imaginative new works for voice and one instrument using a poem of the composer’s choice that they have set to music. Mark tasks the students to not only choose a poem, but to decipher it, learn about the author, and internalize the entire piece in order to create their final musical composition. The finished works are performed by accomplished local singers and musicians.
