Exciting Update: Our Venue Renovation Has Begun!

We have been fortunate to present our concerts at the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) for many years and enjoy a wonderful working relationship with their leadership and congregation members. We are also respectful that this is their church and place of worship.

Our use of the SDA church comes with restrictions as to the type of music and limited days/times we are able to rehearse or perform at the church. This makes future growth and sustainability difficult.

For over 10 years, InConcert Sierra (ICS) has sought a new home. With an anonymous gift of $2m, received in 2018 for the sole purpose of creating a home for ICS, we began our tireless search.

We finally found it! - a 42,000 sq. ft building in excellent condition, in Grass Valley, at a price we can’t pass up.

What to do with an acre of building? Fulfill as many community needs as we can!

  1. The building purchase - plus construction of the concert hall - is conservatively estimated to cost $12 million.

  2. In addition to the original $2 million gift, ICS has raised $5 million in pledges and contributions in just over 90 days – for a total of $7 million!

  3. ICS will be able to expand the number and variety of our concert and education programs. We will not  abandon our third Sunday (2pm) chamber music concerts, and we will remain a classical music organization.

  4. ICS is using the building’s original architect and contractor, a professional theater design consultant, and an acoustician.

  5. ICS’ vision is to create a community asset that includes an elegant acoustic concert hall, a black box  theater, a conference center with banquet seating for up to 300, and a large support kitchen.
