Using Donor-Advised Funds
Support world-class classical music, education, and community through smart, flexible giving
What is a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)?
A Donor-Advised Fund is an increasingly popular way to create a charitable giving account that allows you to support InConcert Sierra and other nonprofits in a flexible and tax-efficient way.Important: InConcert Sierra’s legal name for tax purposes is Twin Cities Concert Association dba InConcert Sierra and Crown Point Venues, Tax ID 68-0164659. Contributions made to a DAF can be directed to us under any of these names however the Tax ID is the same for all three.
How It Works
- Open a DAF - Donor-Advised Fund
You can set up a Donor-Advised Fund through a sponsoring organization, such as:- Your brokerage or financial services company, like Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or Vanguard Charitable
- A community foundation (local or national)
- Recommend Grants (donations) to Charities
Decide over time which charities to support. You can recommend donations to InConcert Sierra, Crown Point Venues, or other qualified nonprofits, now or in the future. - Invest the Funds
Your contributions can be invested in options offered by the sponsoring organization or brokerage, potentially growing tax-free before you grant them to nonprofits. - Enjoy Tax Advantages
- Immediate charitable deduction in the year you contribute
- Avoid capital gains tax on donated assets
- Simplified charitable giving without managing your own foundation
- Flexible & Anonymous
Grants can be made publicly or anonymously, to one or multiple charities.
